Ed Kennedy is a taxi driver, a local parasite and a cornerstone of mediocrity. He is hopelessly in love with his best friend Audrey and cannot find his place in society, family and friends. He reads far too much and does far too little. The dusty suburban streets inscribe a message in him: life is monotonous, the whole world is against you... until one day he accidentally stops a bank robbery.
Then the first playing card arrives in Ed's mailbox. An Ace. It has a mysterious encrypted message written on it.
Then Ed embarks on a dangerous journey. With his knuckles scraped and blood dried on his torn shirt, he fights the windmills. He fights for the lonely and neglected, hidden in the neglected shantytowns of his city. When fate lays all its cards on the table, the last question remains: who is behind Ed's mission?
