Heidi lives with her father and his pregnant partner in an old house in Hovenäset - a small town with many secrets. During the renovation, it turns out that a small baby shoe and an old rattle are hidden under the floor in Heidi's bedroom. Why are they there? Heidi feels strange in the house, she thinks she hears footsteps and the temporary wall of her room makes strange noises. But all this is just the beginning... Night after night, a storm rages, and her grandmother behaves more and more strangely.
It's a good thing that a Ferris wheel is coming to town to brighten up the summer days! The owner Bill seems friendly, and his arrival in town eases her family's financial problems. But his presence brings more than just joy. Her father's partner Jennifer is getting more and more tired, and Heidi's grandmother is starting to warn her of danger; if she doesn't keep her guard up, something terrible will happen to them soon. Something that happened many years ago... Heidi, with the help of her friends Alva and Harry, must unravel the veil of the past before her grandmother's predictions come true.
The Wheel of Fire is the first book in a slightly creepy trilogy from Swedish crime writer Kristina Ohlsson. It is a suspenseful story where every summer day brings new revelations, ancient secrets, and impending danger. (taken from the general page of Miš Publishing House)
