When Zelie took the royal palace that fateful night, she thought the fighting was over. The monarchy had finally fallen. The mages had risen again. She never expected to find herself caged on a foreign ship. Now she was being taken far from home by warriors with iron skulls.
Everything changes when she meets King Baldyr, a kidnapper, leader of the Skulls, and a man who has destroyed civilizations to find her. Baldyr seeks to drain her power, so Zelie, Amari, and Tzain travel to an unknown land to find allies.
