Sincere congratulations to the long-time head of the Library at Mišek Knjižek, Ida Kreča, for receiving the Čop Diploma, the highest national award for exceptional achievements in the field of librarianship that have broader social significance and significantly contribute to the development of the librarianship profession.
Recognitions that Association of Library Associations of Slovenia The Čop Awards, which have been awarded since 1967 and are named after the Slovenian librarian and scholar Matija Čop, will be presented to the winners by the President of the Slovenian Library Association, Damjana Vovk. The Čop Awards will be presented on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at 7 p.m. in the Great Reading Room. National and University Library. The keynote speaker will be the Minister of Culture, Dr. Asta Bag.
We, the Celje librarians, are extremely proud of Ida's award and are sincerely happy about it. Her successes do not end there, she recently Celje Central Library also received an award Associations of Slovenian public libraries for the Coloring Pages from Our Journeys project, which was declared the most innovative project to promote reading literacy in Slovenian public libraries in 2025, and was introduced to the Library by Mišek Knjižku by Ida Kreča.
