The main character, Edward, is eight years old, lives in a Jewish family environment. He does not know his father, because his mother does not know him either. He and his mother live with their grandfather Mojzes and grandmother Lara. Little Eddy loves his grandfather very much, so he is surprised that when his grandfather visits him in the attic, he increasingly calls him Adam. Adam was his grandfather's brother, who disappeared during the war. One day, when he comes to his grandfather's attic, where he is not allowed to go, his grandfather collapses and dies. After his grandfather's death, his mother gets married and they move out with her new husband and start living more freely. Eddy grows up, and when Jack, his mother's husband, dies, he and his mother move back to his grandmother. Eddy constantly wonders why he was not allowed to go to the attic and who was Adam? After his grandmother's funeral, he goes to the attic, where he finds an unopened package addressed to Anna. When he opens it, he discovers Adam's diary, which takes him into the family's past. The content of the novel is shocking, at times comical. You will read it with pleasure.
