The cult Slovenian writer Vesna Milek once again offers an interesting read. Although at first glance it seems like an ordinary love story of a young bored couple, doomed to failure, it later turns out to be much more. In a consumer-oriented society, full of distorted ideals inflated by the media, both heroes live for their dreams, which at the beginning of their relationship are still common, but later they increasingly diverge. He lives for a career as a successful plastic surgeon, she strives for ideal love. Despite all the material goods, they become increasingly depressed and unhappy. Already with the title, the author offers open possibilities and arouses curiosity. From a multi-faceted perspective, an excellent novel, intertwined with a masterful description of emotions and a display of the manipulation of modern society.
