The book brings the Kresnik Award winner's perspective on the last Balkan war. Vladan Borojević types the name of his father Nedeljko, a former officer of the Yugoslav People's Army, who supposedly died in the war, into Google and finds out that he is alive and somewhere in the Balkans. The painful revelation that his father is a wanted war criminal sets him on a journey through the Balkans to find his fugitive father. In the process, a dark family secret is revealed to him. At the same time, he finds out how his family fell apart and why the world in which they once lived, and in which his cruelly interrupted childhood remained, fell apart.
