The title of Šarotar's novel Panorama is named after the monograph of the painter G. Richter on the occasion of his London exhibition. The narrative, which is linguistically very condensed and refined, combines travels, farewells and the search for peaceful environments in which the author would complete the manuscript. Šarotar takes us through magical Ireland, Belgium, via Ljubljana to Sarajevo, where he meets people who are connected by a common fate that left them without their home. With moving stories, the writer wants to tell us how important it is that the numerous atrocities that occurred in the past should never be repeated and forgotten. At the same time, he reminds us all to be aware of where our roots are, where we have our home, and to feel a sense of belonging to it. The author's subtle photographs and "meetings" with literary figures (Andrić, BA Novak, Jančar, etc.) also give the book a special charm.
