The Dancer is a romanticized account of the life of Russian ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev (1938-1993) and a literary masterpiece at the same time. The story begins with scenes from a Russian military hospital, where children, including little Rudolf, arrive. He cheers up the wounded with his dance. This is how his talent is discovered, after which he is sent to a ballet school in Leningrad. During a tour of France, he is sentenced to seven years of forced labor, but he doesn't care much about it. He surrenders to a sweet, decadent life and gets to know the cream of the world. The main character is someone who walks through life differently than others, rough or rough, but at the same time charming and determined, and with a charisma that no one can resist.
