Stray Cat Bob is an autobiographical work by London street musician James Bowen, whose life was changed by an encounter with a stray cat. James is a boy who came to London from Australia - fleeing family problems and the intoxication of hard drugs. In London, his personal hell expands, but his strong will and longing for a better and more beautiful "tomorrow" help him cope with his addiction. Unaccustomed to taking care of himself, he initially finds the encounter with an orange cat that finds itself in the hallway in front of his apartment more of a burden than a joy. But the cat would not be a worthy representative of the feline species if it had not captivated James with its feline charms. James thus finds himself in a situation where he has to take care of another living being and through this experience he matures, grows up and, with the help of the foundling cat, becomes human again - noticed by those around him, willing to deal with the challenges of life and completely devoted to his new role as a cat parent. Orange beauty Bob and his human owner James became international stars a few years ago when a passing tourist recorded their musical performance and posted it on YouTube. The post garnered a huge fan following and led to the publication of a book about their lives.
