"Sarajevo Marlboro" contains a series of shocking, sometimes humorous stories. Each is a confession for itself, but all have in common Bosnia, the war in it and, of course, the people who were touched by this war in one way or another. Helplessness, anger, sadness, indifference, fear, anxiety, death and the inability of two previously "brotherly" nations to coexist are the main elements of this work. The social environment of Jergović's heroes is the Sarajevo area during the war, which leaves people deeply affected. A literary work that grabs you and makes you want to read it in one breath.
