The Australian writer has won several prestigious international awards for her novel All the Birds Sing. The refined and stylistically rich text, stripped of emotions and metaphors, takes us to a small farm on one of the desolate British Isles, where the main character, Jake, lives a lonely and remote life. At first glance, she lives modestly and without burdens from her past, and her sheep and dog keep her company. However, through the events on the sheep farm, when she cannot figure out who or what is killing her sheep, her dark side and complex, almost psychopathic character are soon revealed. The memories that she hoped would remain hers alone slowly leak out and do not let her sleep peacefully on dark nights.
