Very friendly writing, with which the author (re)constructs the memory of his upbringing, perhaps also the memory of his life. In both, a series of charming situations are woven around the main events, imbued with human warmth and hidden affection, which, even where they hint at human weaknesses, do not skimp on understanding and sensitivity. The book also bears the recognizable mark of the caring atmosphere of life in the former country. When asked whether we are already so far from Yugoslavia that we can afford it as an object of open nostalgia, Imamović gives an affirmative answer without hesitation.
